SV Wrestling Families;
Well...it's that time again! For those of you who've been around, you know what I'm referring to.
Coming up on March 10th, 11th, & 12th is the PIAA High School Individual Wrestling Championships at the Giant Center in Hershey PA, "THE SWEETEST PLACE ON EARTH".
These next 2 months will fly by before we know it. Start planning for it now.
My family and I will be leaving either Thursday evening (3/10) or Friday morning (3/11) and returning Sunday (3/13). We will be attending the AAA wrestling sessions on Friday & Saturday. I have been attending since 1995. Two years ago is the first time the whole family went and the kids have been asking to go back ever since. If you are interested in attending, I am trying to coordinate riding & staying arrangements.
For those moms (& sisters) that feel this wouldn't be for them, trust me, Bonnie and Maddie spend most of their time over at the outlets shopping or in the hotel swimming pool while Nick and I go watch wrestling. They do attend the Finals with us though. We've gone to see local attractions as well (i.e. Indian Echo Caverns, Chocolate World) It really is a weekend of fun for the whole family.
I would like reserve a block of rooms with whomever is interested in attending in order to stay together. We would also want to get tickets sitting together as well. We are looking to book rooms for the Candlewood Suites in Harrisburg/Hershey. They are great rates. Here's the link:

Just so you have a general idea, the rooms will be less than $100/night and the tickets are approximately $24/person for the entire weekend. I would expect our reservations to be for Friday and Saturday. If you are interested in reserving Thursday evening as well, you can let us know.
I will be getting more specific information in the next few weeks (ie hotel prices) but I do need to get an idea of how many families are interested so I can get an accurate quote. Please respond to this email or let me know at practice if you and your family are interested in attending all or part of this weekend by February 1st.
The state tournament is an incredible event to attend. It is the grand prize that our kids are striving for starting now at the elementary level. This is my favorite weekend of the year (if you don't believe me, ask Bonnie). Some of your kids will be wrestling there some day (at least working their tails off trying to). It is the best wrestling state tournament in the entire country. Here are some shots of last year's tournament. Enjoy!
